Maverick Driving Academy

Who Are We?
Maverick Driving Academy is owned and operated by Johnny L. Canty and Michael Warren. Together the partners have over seventy-five (75) years of law enforcement training. The partners have been certified as and served as driving instructors for law enforcement officers during their careers in law enforcement. They have instructed and certified law enforcement officers to operate patrol vehicles in inclement weather, high speed pursuits, defensive driving and traffic enforcement. It is the goal of the owners to provide an expertise training module for students that attend the driving academy by utilizing their years of experience as law enforcement officers.

Our Mission
Our mission at Maverick Driving Academy is to change unsafe driving behavior by increasing awareness of road hazards and teaching defensive driving techniques.

Our Goal
The goal of Maverick Driving Academy is to provide drivers with knowledge and safe driving techniques to prevent collisions and violations. The course will focus on collision prevention through hazard recognition. In addition, the course will address common driving violations that can result in collisions and how to change bad driving habits to eliminate these violations.

The 8-hour course will allow each participant the opportunity to learn how to recognize both potential and immediate hazards, how to avoid collisions in a variety of driving conditions, and how to choose safe and legal driving behaviors. Maverick Driving Academy will place emphasis on identifying safe and legal behind-the-wheel behaviors and actions.
